How fast you get to the point

There are six onboarding slides, then an account wall. That’s seven steps before you can even talk to the app.

FixCut it to two slides, then let people record right away.

Trust: say one thing, do another

The App Store says an account is optional. But slide seven blocks you unless you sign in with Apple or Google, and Skip is gone.

FixMake the account optional, and ask for it only after the first note is saved.

Every slide shows a demo note above the headline. So you see the answer before you know the question.

One consistent voice

Each slide’s headline is written a different way: a statement, a sentence with no subject, a command, and one that starts mid-thought. It reads like four different writers.

This slide shows finished tasks, like an email sent and a reminder set. But the app hasn’t asked for Mail, Calendar, or Reminders access yet.

Too much motion, not enough clarity

In the hands-on session, the animation on this slide made the text hard to read. We can’t prove that from a still screenshot, so we call it observed, not measured.

Does it feel like progress?

Every slide uses the same layout: card, headline, subhead, button. Only the dots at the bottom show you’re moving forward.

FixUse fewer slides. Two screens don’t need to look identical to feel like progress.

The change isn't “fewer slides”. It's moving both the account request and the product education after the first recording, so the app proves its premise before it asks for anything.

Five tabs, four different kinds of word.

One system, not four

Write is a verb. Tasks is a noun. Krovvi is the app’s own name. Settings is a system menu. None of these match, so there’s no pattern to learn.

FixUse one kind of word for every tab, and move Settings off the bar.

The most important button on the screen has no name.

Can people find the main action?

Recording is the whole point of this app. But the record button is just a plain ring, with no label and no icon.

FixGive it a label and make it the clear center of the screen.

Does the screen match what people expect?

Home opens on a list of old notes, a search bar, and folder tabs. It looks like a file browser, not a place to start talking.

Reach and platform convention

Settings sits in the easy-to-reach tab bar, though people barely open it. Search is stuck at the top, far from the thumb, even though it’s used constantly.

Three ways to start. No way to tell them apart.

One clear way to start

The record button, the plus icon, and the Write tab all seem to start something new. Nothing explains how they’re different.

Don’t hide the thing you’re explaining

A tip that says “Make your first take” covers up a real note, and there are already five notes on screen. It’s teaching a step the user already did.

The app writes itself into your notes. Twice.

Keep system messages out of user data

A welcome message sits in the note list as if the user recorded it. The same message shows up again right below it, in Arabic.

Some notes should stand out

Every note in the list looks the same: same size, same weight. Nothing shows what’s new or needs attention.

The number on Tasks tells you how many are waiting. The plain dot on the Krovvi tab tells you nothing at all.

A sort icon and a plus icon sit next to search, both small and unlabeled. Nobody can guess what they do.

The App Store listing calls it Catch8. Every screen inside the app calls it Krovvi.

Fix Change the store listing to say Krovvi. It’s a five-minute fix with a big trust payoff.

The headline moves above the card, so the claim arrives before its evidence. One voice across both slides. Six slides become two, and the account wall leaves the flow entirely.

Home — the primary action, first

Recording becomes a labelled hero action instead of an unnamed ring. The tab bar drops to four nouns with search inside it; settings moves to the avatar. Read notes recede, unread carries weight. The tour leaves the note list for one dismissible card.
